1. What Is Covered and Excluded in the Golden Pledge Limited Warranty?
The Golden Pledge Limited Warranty covers the following GAF roofing products in the event they contain manufacturing defects: GAF Asphaltic Shingles, GAF Ridge Cap Shingles, GAF Starter Strip Shingles, GAF Leak Barrier Products, GAF Roof Deck Protection Products, GAF Cobra® Attic Ventilation Products and GAF-labeled Ultimate Pipe Flashing® with EasySleeve.
Misapplication of your GAF Products and flashings at dormers, chimneys, valleys and plumbing vents is also covered by this warranty.
2. Who Is Covered by This Warranty?
You are covered by the Golden Pledge Limited Warranty if you live in the U.S. or Canada and you are the original property owner or the first subsequent owner (if the warranty was properly transferred). This limited warranty, however, may only be transferred once. If you’re the second owner, you have to notify GAF in writing within 60 days after the property transfer so that the warranty can also be formally transferred to you.
3. Does the Warranty Cover Misapplication?
If an application error that affects performance was found on your GAF products or covered flashings, GAF will have your roof repaired or re-covered by reputable roofers. GAF may also, at its sole option, provide replacement GAF products and reimburse you for the full reasonable cost of labor and materials required in repairing or re-covering your roof.
4. What’s the Process for Filing Warranty Claims?
Simply call GAF’s Warranty Services Department toll-free at 1-800-458-1860. Don’t forget to prepare the following documents before letting them know about your complaint:
– A copy of your GAF warranty
– A copy of the contractor’s invoice, contract, and original estimate
– The date the shingles were installed
– Proof that you were the owner of the property when the shingles were installed
– Number of squares applied
